Fine art exhibition by the Art Circle in Bath

Welcome to the information and submission page for the first fine art exhibition organised by the Art Circle, Bath.

PINT SIZED

The intention of this exhibition is to enable members of the Art Circle to enjoy each other’s work and to share their art with friends and the local community.

Love for the Arts

This is an event organised by us, for us. Remember, we are all volunteers and the primary goal of this exhibition is to have fun, rather than a commercial exercise. Please be patient and let us know if you encounter any problems, or have questions, so we can tackle them as best as we can. Your help and cooperation is greatly appreciated.

General Information

  • One work per artist.
  • Based on the interest expressed (40 artists), no judges will be involved and everyone’s work will be displayed (subject to the conditions below).
  • The exhibition will be free (no submission or hanging fee).
  • There will be free entry for everyone on the opening night. Due to limited space it is suggested that every artist brings up to 1 other guest to the private view.
  • All works will have to be for sale for £150 exactly.
  • There will be no selling commission.
  • There will be space (shelves) for 2-3 small sculptures.
  • All works will need to be max A4 in size (an additional 2-3cm around the perimeter for framing is acceptable).
  • Works to be ready to hang with D rings or similar attached to the frame.
  • The paintings can be square, as long as they are not bigger than an A4  (approx.).
  • All works will need to be framed or on a stretched canvas.
  • The pub has clarified that subjects of political/religious/sexual/controversial content cannot be displayed in their premises.

Important Dates

  • Submissions open: Saturday 31 August 
  • Submissions deadline: Friday 4 October
  • Drop off date: Saturday 12 October (10:00-13:00) – Bath Artist Studios
  • Hanging date: Sunday 20 October (no attendance needed)
  • Official opening: Wednesday 23 October at 18:30 – The Raven of Bath
  • Collection of unsold work: January 2025 (date to be confirmed)

Terms and Agreement

  • The exhibiting artists will be liable for their work.
  • The Raven and The Art Circle carry no responsibility relating to damage to any work.
  • All sales will be processed by the pub and money transferred direct to the selling artist.
  • The Art Circle will not be handling any money and transactions.
  • If a work is considered inappropriate for display by the pub’s management, its exclusion will be final and non negotiable.
  • You agree to allow photos of you and/or your work to be taken for promotional purposes of the opening evening.
  • You agree to promote this show through your social media and mailing list.
